Abstract (summary)

In an interview, Deirdre Flynn, North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) executive director, talked about what is happening in the association and what new items attendees can expect from this year's show. She said that it is a continuing process to stay focused on the customer, and for NAFEM as an association to provide education and programs and services that allow members to serve the foodservice customer, to be that great foodservice provider, and to be that great vendor/partner with their customer. Taking the data protocol to its next steps has been a big focus for them. These next steps are to use technology to link the front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house systems. She also added that there is a technology pavilion at the show for the second time. There are computer hardware and software providers, gateway providers, and other technology providers exhibiting.Abstract (summary)
